My passions are health, spirituality and creativity. I explore the world by constant learning and creating. I am always on the lookout for great adventures. I grew up in Southern Nevada. I travel around the world but the Mojave Desert will always be the home of my heart.

HMShelton.com is the core of my being. I am a sixth generation healer. Supporting and caring for families from birth to death is my calling as an RN of many, many years. Following in my mother’s footsteps I am also a second generation professional photographer. My insatiable curiosity as a mother, myself, has lead me to the study of the martial arts as well as Eastern Philosophy and Chinese Medicine.

I was a prolific photographer in the film days. I spent many happy hours experimenting with my camera; spawning my love of night skies and light painting. The extreme heat of summers in Las Vegas had me seeking the cool and peaceful darkroom. There I “developed” my skills with Ansel Adams as my inspiration.
A few years ago my personal world slid sideways. I realized I needed to pursue my passions rather putting them off, waiting for a “retirement” that was no longer guaranteed. Upon my return to photography I abruptly discovered there have been drastic changes with the advent of digital photography. The cameras and editing were completely different. My only constants moving forward were my insatiable desire to create art and my photographic eye.
As a life long learner I sought a teacher. My creativity and love of everything photographic continue to blossom under the hand of my mentor and friend, Garrett Winslow. (ByWinslow.com)
My body, mind and spirit flourish in the wonders of nature. If the sun is up there’s a great chance I’m outdoors, wind in my hair, camera in my hand. Landscapes, skies, animals and, sometimes people, are my inspiration. My goal creating artistic photography is to capture and share with you the sense of wonder, awe and joy I find in the beauty of nature.

Please enjoy my gallery, although my work (especially my “Faces in the Rock” series) show much better as large prints in your home or office.
